The Directors’ Guild of Nigeria boasts of a unique founding history; six men sat together despite extraneous circumstances in 1999, unhappy with the unprofessional treatment of directors in the emerging Nollywood. Practices including copyright infringements, poor remuneration, inadequate welfare, and poor crediting vexed these men, who came to be known as The Six Angry Men; they came to a resolution, and DGN was born. Today that guild has become the apex guild, and 2024 is the year of the 25th anniversary of DGN, and we think it’s worthy of celebration, and Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State, is playing host to the event from 16th-20th of October 2024.
I want to encourage you to please clear your calendars, as it’s going to be one huge party in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State.
Thank you very much, and God bless you.
