Follow this steps to become a member

The Directors’ Guild of Nigeria (DGN) membership application requires endorsements from four members within your application category, your resume and brief biography, your home address, and other contact information. 

Membership categories are: Trainee Director, Associate Director, Full Membership Director and Fellow Director.

Note: Criteria 

✓Directors typically need a bachelor’s degree in film or cinema studies or a related field, such as arts, communications technology, or theatre, to gain technical know-how and get their foot in the door.

✓On-the-job training to become assistant directors. 

✓Hands-on work experience on actual film and television projects. 

✓Attends a number of mandatory seminars on various aspects of the industry.

✓Develop three feature-length projects with credits to your name as a film, television, or stage director. 

✓Work as script supervisor, 1st AD, 2nd AD in not more than 10 production

Lists of individuals who have met the minimum requirements for work as script supervisor, 1st AD, 2nd AD, and three credits to your name as a film, television, or stage director would be called up for screening, and if successful, would be inducted into the Directors’ Guild of Nigeria (DGN) in one of the categories.
